About the Role

The Accountant is responsible for contributing to and supporting the work of the Aurrum Group Finance Team. This role will be located at our Support Office in Circular Quay.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain Fixed Assets Register
• Assistance with Monthly Board Packs and Annual Budget Process
• Prepare Monthly BAS & Payroll Tax and FBT
• Assistance with the preparation of financial statements
• Contributing to Financial Analyses
• Calculation of accruals and journals for review by the Group Financial Controller
• Assistance with the preparation of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
• Provide regular business intelligence reports and key data to managers and stakeholders on a regular basis
• Assistance with Grants
• Assistance with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions (when required)
• Be the support and back up for the payroll function however, experience in payroll processing is not required.  

About You

Essential:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Finance / Accounting 
• Accounting experience in an Aged Care or Childcare or other NFP with government funding is preferred, but not essential
• 4+ years’ experience in a finance with accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
• CPA Qualification Obtained (or working towards this)
• High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerised accounting software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional confidentiality
• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
• Works well in a team environment
